Our Mission
Neo-Luddites exists to document, analyze, and foster understanding of the growing phenomenon of technology resistance — particularly regarding artificial intelligence and automation. We believe that informed discourse, not polarization, leads to better outcomes for society.
We are neither advocates for uncritical technology adoption nor opponents of legitimate concerns about AI's impact on employment, privacy, and human autonomy. Instead, we seek to illuminate the full spectrum of perspectives and encourage thoughtful engagement.
What We Document
- Historical context — How technology resistance has manifested throughout history
- Contemporary movements — Current forms of AI skepticism and opposition
- Worker perspectives — First-hand accounts from those affected by automation
- Success stories — Examples of beneficial human-AI collaboration
- Policy landscape — Regulations and legal battles shaping AI adoption
Our Approach
We employ rigorous research methodology, drawing from academic sources, news reports, interviews, and primary documents. All claims are cited, and we distinguish clearly between factual reporting and editorial analysis.
We acknowledge that technology adoption is not a binary choice. Healthy skepticism, ethical oversight, and worker protections are essential components of responsible innovation. At the same time, we recognize that fear-based rejection often obscures opportunities for positive change.
Editorial Independence
This project maintains complete editorial independence. We are not funded by technology companies, AI developers, or anti-technology organizations. Our analyses are guided solely by evidence and commitment to balanced discourse.
